Hey, look, a book about clever people politely threatening each other in gardens. Also duelling. And labour uprisings.

There are airships. And Space Marines in full battle-plate attending a dinner party.

Also, Fabius Bile has to go to a dinner party. It’s very awkward

Interested in a Horus Heresy Roleplay?

Would anyone on here be interested in playing a Play-by-Post Horus Heresy game using the Drama System by Robin D. Laws? The game requires a minimum of 5-8 players for maximum DRAMA, and I have enough folks to do that in the reaaaal world, but not all of them get along, and not all of them know the Horus Heresy that well. So, I’m actually considering making a game for play either on Tumblr here, Skype, Hangouts, or whatever else is out there.

Game Premise
Using the Drama System, you would play as the champions, leaders, and influential figures from a custom made legion going through the entire Horus Heresy. The party would design the legion and its role in the Imperium, pick their role in the legion, decide their relationships with each other, decide what each and every character would want from each other, decide moral compasses and each character’s stances on the coming civil war and Chaos, and play out intense scenes of internal conflict within the legion, which will go on to impact the Heresy at large.

Role Options
Legion-
The Primarch.
High Ranking Astartes.
Champion Astartes.

Human-
Expedition Fleet Officers.
Rememberancers.
Perpetuals.

Other-
Word Bearer Chaplain.
Alpha Legion Spies.
Xenos Cabal Agent.

If you folks saw this, and are interested in playing this out, send me a message. Let me know what you’d be interested in playing, and when you’d be available.

If you can, reblog. Let your pals know I’m doing this. I have a max of ten character slots for this game, and i would like to fill at least six. If you’re interested but unsure what Drama System, or even what this style of roleplaying is, please ask! I’ll give you a tasty rundown, we’ll chat and see if its your jam.

I identify with Fabius Bile, because I too like science, am totally done with other people’s bs and melodrama, have little patience for the 40k universe’s fixation on past glories of a fallen age rather than concentrating on making cool new things, and would slaughter billions if it somehow would get my dissertation done faster.

Considering Dante and Primogenitor and the new Guilliman stuff, I think my favorite recent 40k genre is “old dude who’s 110% done with everything, but feel obligated not to lay down and die just yet, because think of the children–they are idiots and cannot tie their own shoelaces undersupervised–so here’s one last huzzah”
